Mid-Week OOTD - Detached Collars

Hey there! It's Wednesday and it's time for my OOTD for work. I know I'm kind of late, but I really like the detached collar trend. You can buy it already made or you can make it yourself. It comes in different prints and patterns and with many embellishments such as studs, pearls, and diamonds. A few weekends ago, I went to a couple of thrift stores specifically to find some shirts that I can make my collars with. I found one with a nice print and one that was all white (yes it was both clean and white).

DIY: Painted Canvas Sneakers

Happy Friday!! So I had a pair of Keds that I really liked because it had a monkey on it. (I love monkeys!) Unfortunately it got dirty from walking through something, wet grass I think. I washed them in the washer but that didn't completely remove the stains. I chose to keep them as cleaning shoes or whatever reason I made up. Basically, the sneakers sat in the closet from lack of wear. Obviously, I wasn't ready to give them up so finally after about a year or so of going nowhere, I decided to paint them.

Mid-Week OOTD - Blazing

I love blazers! I mean, really. You can wear them with anything and it can help make the outfit pop. You can wear one with shorts, skirts, dresses, leggings, pants, jeans and even sweats. It's so versatile. It can make your outfit fancy, chic, and casual cool. I have about 6 blazers total but I don't think I'm done yet. The red one is my favorite as you can see. I think red just looks good on me. I still have my eyes out for a white tuxedo blazer and a another pop of color. Maybe something soft like peach or mint green. And probably a few more. Here's what I wore with my blazer to work today.

Tattoo Cover Up

Last Sunday, I decided to finally use the Groupon that I purchased in late October. It was one of my Christmas gifts. The groupon was for a huge discount of two hours of work done at Plug Tattoo located at the Fruitvale Bart Station. The artist I chose was D. He's really good and very professional. If you like tattoos, check him out.

The tattoo that I decided to cover up was of a teddy bear holding a heart. It had my son's name and birthday inside of the heart. It wasn't horrible and it wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't good. Here's how it looked.
this picture doesn't help at all. okay it's bad!
I decided to stick with the lily design that I currently have. I told my son that I got "his tattoo" covered. He said, with big eyes, "Why?!" I told him because it was a bad tat. He then responded with, "But I'm your son!" I laughed and said "Exactly! We both know this, so there's no need to have your name on me". He replied "But I'm going to get MOM tatted on me" Isn't he cute? We shall see..
He smiled when I showed him the new tattoo and noticed that his name was bigger than before. :-) Kids. Here's how it turned out.

excuse the blood...

Eventually after getting a few more tats on my right arm, I should have a full sleeve. I can't wait!

How many tattoos do you have? What will your next one be?

Mid-Week OOTD - Preppy

This past week has been very busy for me and I'm not sure why when I really don't have much of a life. WEIRD. I can't even recall what I've been up to but apparently I didn't have time for my blog. I told myself that I will definitely post my weekly Wednesday outfits no matter what because once a week is better than none. I do have some DIY projects coming so look out for that.

I decided to go a little preppy today. Here's what I wore.

Movie Night: Denim on Denim

Last night, the in-laws and myself went to check out the widely talked about movie Django Unchained. Unfortunately the dude in line before us bought the last movie ticket. What made it worse was the ticket taker not saying anything to let us know. He just got up from his seat and posted two sold out signs on the window. Really though? Anyway, after chilling in front of the theater as if it was a warm summer evening, we decided to watch the Guilt Trip. I had no idea what that movie was about or who was starring in it, but it ended up being pretty funny. Go check it out, or not. Here's what I wore using the denim on denim trend.

Mid-Week OOTD - Shirt/Dress

Happy Hump Day!! It's the middle of the week and I decided to wear a dress today. I usually don't wear dresses unless it's a special event that I'm attending such as a wedding or for my anniversary. I'm not 100% positive that what I'm wearing is actually a dress. It could be a tunic or a shirtdress or a really long shirt. Here's how I styled it.

DIY: Cap Toe Shoe

I've noticed many women wearing cap toe shoes, whether it's pumps, boots, or flats. There's white caps, gold and silver metallic, a lighter shade on a darker shade of the same color family. It's on leather, suede, and patent leather materials. I think this trend is cool so I thought that I would try to find me a pair. While browsing my favorite online shoe stores and window shopping in the malls, I realized that most of the pretty versions just cost too damn much. But I should be able to make my own, right?
