White Hot

Amber from Real Girl Glam has presented another style challenge for us bloggers and this month's inspiration is based on all white or white on white. I love white tees and button ups and sometimes I buy in pairs because white just don't stay white no matter how hard you try not to get it dirty. This is why I don't have many white pieces other than shirts. The last time I bought white jeans since my most recent pair was when I was in high school. That's saying a lot because that's was an extremely long time ago. :-) I do have an off white blazer and dress so I decided to go with two different looks for this challenge. The entry date isn't until Friday so I'm a little early but that just means it's still time for you to enter.

Gold Sequins

This past weekend was busy as predicted. Unfortunately, I didn't get to complete my sewing project but I did cut out the pattern pieces and pin them down to the fabric. It's a start! Saturday, Mel took two of her god kids to see the movie The Croods. It was so funny! If you have any children make sure you take them to see it. Even if you don't you should check it out. I think I was the loudest one laughing in the theater. Sunday was a beautiful warm day out in the bay. We spent the day outdoors and basked in the sun. Okay, we didn't bask, but we did enjoy the warmth. I decided to wear a skirt which I rarely do and I'm becoming more open minded about it. Here's how I styled my gold sequin skirt.

Mid-Week OOTD - Color Blocking

Happy Wednesday! It's about that time again. This week is all about the colors. Color blocking that is. Color blocking is when you wear 2 to 3 separate pieces in different solid colors. You can choose more colors but 4 is usually the max. Using the color wheel helps in deciding what colors to pair together. You can stay in the same color family or you can be bold and mix colors that wouldn't normally be expected. It also helps if you add one neutral colored piece to your outfit. Neutrals are whites, blacks, grays, and browns. I decided to give this trend a try. I have a decent amount of solid colored tops but not so much in bottoms or shoes. I tend to stick with colors like black and the many shades of brown. I went through what I have and this is how I decided to sport the color blocking trend.
