L.A. Styling

LA styling {who is that girl mo?}

This past weekend, Mel and I went to L.A. to attend a friend's 30th birthday party. Most of L.A. nightclubs have a strict dress code and are pretty selective. This meant that I'll most likely have to wear a dress. Who wears dresses to nightclubs? No, seriously I usually only wear dresses to weddings and events as such and I don't like when I'm forced to wear one. I do have a LBD but I think it may be more appropriate for a funeral or work-related event.  So, after some wardrobe stressing I went to The Rack and found a black bodycon dress on clearance for $15 which I felt was more appropriate for a L.A. nightclub.

As you can see, I decided to NOT wear the dress. I felt like even though it looked good on me it wasn't what I wanted to wear which meant I wouldn't be comfortable and Comfort is my number one rule. I kept my look simple with all black pieces, silver accessories and a pop of color with a coral clutch. For the future though, I will have a dress to wear for ANY and EVERY event that requires it IF and WHEN I choose to wear it. :-)

  1. Very Cute! Looks like you had a good time in LA. I like what you chose to wear to the club. Bodycon's are very uncomfortable! Who wants to be pulling and tugging all night long! :)

    LOVE that top look with the clutch - ya I imagine that was a much better choice than the body con. Comfort rules!

  3. You look very chic in the all black look! Comfort is important to me too and I bet that dress wouldn't have been comfy especially if you were dancing.

  14. I hate being forced to wear something I'm not feeling too. Usually that means pants (we're opposite). The all black with cool jewellery is very sleek though! Did you have any trouble getting in? PS Look at you in your fancy limo! I love pulling up VIP styles when clubbing, it's the only way to go!

  15. You looked fantastic all weekend! I love the all black who needs a dress when you're styling like that besides I'm like you I never quite understood wearing a dress to a nightclub back when I was about that club life we were wearing sneaker and baggy jeans :)

  18. The outfit you wore out was perfect for the club, you looked stunning! Plus $15 is a steal for an emergency bodycon dress. BTW love that you talked about not liking dresses and bought one of the most daring styles you could, bodycon!

    Hope you had a superstar weekend in L.A.!

    L.A. nightclubs are so annoying. Glad you wore something more comfortable. I think you could have rocked a jumpsuit too! :)
