15 Essential Items For A Tropical Vacay

    |
Tomorrow I will officially be in Puerto Rico. Here is my list of essentials for a tropical vacation. This list was made to help NOT over pack but I'm sure I did anyway.

  • 3 - 4 Tees and tanks - Simple and goes with everything.
  • 1 Button up shirt or tunic - For variety.
  • 3-4 pairs of shorts - At least one should be printed and another twill or chino. Any length you prefer.
  • 1 Maxi dress or skirt
  • 1 Sundress or romper
  • 2 swimsuits
  • Floppy hat - To look fancy AND be protected against the sun.
  • Sunnies
  • Cover up or sarong - For the times you don't want to walk around in just your swimsuit.
  • Flip flops - for the beach or pool only.
  • Tote - To carry your beach/pool items.
  • 1 pair of flats or flat sandals
  • 1 pair of dress sandals - For fancier affairs.
  • 1 pair of sneakers. For the long walks and excursions or even for workouts.
  • Lightweight jacket - Just in case the weather unexpectedly drops or changes.

Of course don't forget items such as simple jewelry pieces, small bags/purses and your toiletries.
Is there anything you would add or remove for your trip?

    3. You may want to add a pair of pants/jeans just in case. I went to PR a few years back and had to wear jeans for horseback riding. Enjoy your trip!

Great packing list! I guess it depends on how long of a trip you have, but I agree with Sharon about adding a pair of jeans! If you're cramped for space in your suitcase I think you could eliminate the swim cover-up or sarong and just use the romper or sundress as a coverup. Have a GREAT time though!
