Weekend 2 of the Coachella Festival is this upcoming weekend and sadly I will not be attending. Again. But that's alright, I can pretend. In spirit of festival style I created a fringe tee and scalloped edge denim shorts.
Supplies:
tee
jeans or already cut shorts
scissors
chalk
roll of scotch tape with or without dispenser or a round object
Tee
Remove the neckline and the hem cutting carefully around the seams. I cut the neckline a little deeper to make it low cut. You can also cut the sleeves to your desired length.
Spread the tee out evenly on a flat surface.
Mark on the tee where you want the fringe to begin and draw a line across the width of the tee.
Cut a slit in the middle of the tee (through both sides) and stop at the marked line.
Continue to cut slits across the tee at your desired width. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Pull the fringes to make them longer.
Shorts
If using jeans, fold in half and cut to desired length.
Trace around the edge of the tape wit the chalk creating the scallop edge
By the time I actually make it to Coachella I'll probably be too old to find it fun, lol. But I still like the overall festival style. You did a great job--you can wear this to any summer music concert.
Very Cute!! Seeing all the festival pics it really looks like fun! You really could have Rock'd this there! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great look on you! I love how it all works together.
ReplyDeleteThe fringe would be perfect for Coachella! I'm enjoying seeing photos of people's outfits from the festival...so many different looks!

Thanks and someday soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, I feel the same way based on the ticket prices and how quick they sell out. We may just have to plan and save now for next year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea!
ReplyDeleteJeans doesn't usually fray unless you pull on it or wash and dry it. You can buy some Fray Stop from the sewing section in Walmart.
