Peter Pan Collars

There are some styles that I like and there are some styles that I feel just wouldn't work for me. Peter pan collars are one of those styles. It looks great on little girls or for librarians or whomever likes to wear them but I didn't think it would look half as nice on me. Until I tried one on. 
I found this top while thrift shopping and it was thrown on top of accessories rack as if someone changed their mind about it. This shade of green and the polka dots are what really caught my eye but when I saw the collar, I had doubts. It had a size small tag but I tried it on anyway because you know it doesn't matter what the tag says. It looked great on me and there was a half off sale so I bought it. Thanks to whomever gave it up. :-)
I wore it out to a lunch and movie date with my son (he's 15 now!). We watched 22 Jump Street and it was pretty darn funny so check it out if you like laughing out loud. I guess the point of this post is, don't knock it until you've tried it.

    It's really cute on you + I like the neon polish (random) LOL...Awesome that both the top and bottom are thrifted! My friend told me that skinny jeans don't work for my body shape but oh well I wear them anyway ☺

    I really like Peter Pan collars. This shirt looks so cute on you! Great find, especially for half off! I really want to see 22 Jump Street. The first one was so funny! I love those guys.

    I love the top! You look great in it too! I am a fan of Peter Pan collars. Just recently I purchased a coral top that had a black Peter Pan collar. I have received numerous compliments on it so far.

    OMG I had such a similar thought with this kind of collar! I only have one item that has this collar (a dress from Zara) but, I ended up liking it on myself. haha. Ironic isn't it? Love this top on you!

    Such a cute top! And, yeah, I felt the same way too about Peter Pan Collars, just a little too precious, but it really is a cute look. And much more grown up and sophisticated than you'd think.

    I love it! I think the polka dots give it sort of a vintage feel. Takes me back to my school uniform days!
